Christmas in March

I have read all about people who do this thing called Project 365. Basically, they take a photo every day for a year.

No.

I tried for 25 days in the month of December. I think that I made it through 22.

Blake's Birthday

We had a "Not-so Sleepover Party" for Blake's 5th birthday. Complete with jammies, stuffed guys, a cartoon, a dance party and pillow cookies!

For his family party, he requested chocolate cake with volcanos, in his signature color. After hours researching, as well as shopping, I realized I had 4th of July sparkler picks from Crate and Barrel. Done.

Parker's Birthday

I have about 700 photos on my camera since December. I finally sat down to have a bit of a tug o war with my iphoto. Birthdays are so fun...why not relive them all year?

Parker was able to celebrate his 3rd birthday with his friends at the Children's Museum, as well as bring treats for his preschool class!

The Adventures of Pigs in a Backpack

Lucky us...every 2 weeks or so, we get to take home a new character for the weekend. Piglet was our first house guest, who we promptly left at Ms Linda's for the afternoon. Mommy was thrilled to drive back down to Bellevue to pick up Piglet (after a shopping spree at Lululemon) because we have to document each of our day's activities in the spiral notebook located inside of the backpack.

Piglet convinced Blake and I to take him on a cold hot cocoa/park date since Parker was sleeping at Nana's. (Can't you just hear Blake and Piglet slurping their cocoa?)

For the last 4 weeks, I have heard Blake randomly tell people, that his Piglet and Mommy date, was by far...the best day of his life.

Crazy Kid

His co-star on Broadway will look back at these photos and be so glad that we fostered his "dramatic" side at such a ripe young age.

*Sigh*

3 2 1 Blast Off!!

Blake has the most wonderful preschool teacher who has been teaching 4-5 year olds for almost 23 years! (what is wrong with her????) Blake has learned so much this year, and is beside himself with learning about the solar system, and all that it holds in it. I am constantly being bombarded with the most "wonderful" facts about planets, stars and meteor showers. Mmmmmmmmm.

Every child had to create a spaceship for class. Not a "sit on the table and look cool" kind, no...we had to make one that you could take off to outer space in. Not my gifting, so we recruited my parents. And of course, they were thrilled to put together Blake's vision for a space ship with a planet mobile.

(and no, Parker is not wearing a Juicy Couture Sweatsuit)

Reason 19,025 why I love Blake

I get a fresh delivery of flowers every day.

Reason 13,945 why I love Parker

He is a food saver. We find the most random food hidden in the kitchen. Here was last night's find.

Some kids like to play cops and robbers.

Some kids like to play cowboys and Indians.

Some kids like to play flying lemurs.

What?

Yikes

You know your child is "special" when he chews his morning fruit bar into the shape of the state of Ohio, and is beyond thrilled with himself.

Gross...

If you ever wondered why you would pay for preschool...this is why

A Balanced Meal

Consists of vitamins, carrots and chicken...with a little bit of blood.

Thank you Blake.

Springtime means wedding bells...obviously.

Check out the looks on Parker and Ava's faces when we told them that someday they would be married.

How much do I love these photos?

Don't worry that I am just now uploading photos from a session LAST summer.

"Mommy, do Dinosaurs have Jesus in their heart?"

I haven't had my hair colored since October. This is out of the norm for me. I personally like to date my stylist at least every 10-12 weeks, however, he is really wanting to see me every 6-8. He is high maintenance and somewhat demanding of my time, but we're good for each other.

Last weekend, I was having Dave inspect my head. Right in the area where I would pull a side pony tail, or sport the "half up-half down" look. He finally sighs and says, "Just go get your hair dyed."

Parker, who is standing outside my bathroom gasps, and exclaims, "Oh no Mommy! Your hair died!"

Well, I guess that's one way to describe gray...

Peekish

Maybe you have heard of it...it's a relatively new language, and was started in a small tribe in Snohomish County. Here are a couple of examples of it's key phrases:

Wash-a Sho? (watch a show)
Wudge U (love you)
You Sunny (you funny)
Peas Six it, it brote (please fix it, it's broken)
One Two Free Sour Sive Six...(1 2 3 4 5 6...)
Nate Choo (thank you)
Welcub Mommy, Welcub (You are welcome Mommy, you are welcome)

Before long, you will be able to purchase Rosetta Stone DVDs at your local mall kiosk.

Wait for it...

Slip Sliding Away

My youngest child is naughty.
My youngest child is lovely.
My youngest child is crazy.
My youngest child is tricky.
My youngest child is snuggly.
My youngest child is thoughtful.
My youngest child is hysterical.

My youngest child might be finished taking a nap.

When asked why he isn't napping, my youngest child replies with a sly grin (imagine head cocked sideways, shoulders up, hands bent backwards...) "How?"

My youngest child thinks that he will skate through life on his sharp wit and good looks.

I will now attempt to break him of that.

Without laughing.

Somebody call 911

We field tripped it to the Fire Department this morning. Blake's class got the royal treatment from the Payne Field Firemen today! We got to watch the special truck that puts out airplane fires squirt water 220 feet out from it's top hose, and also see the beds that firemen sleep in!!! Big deal. Big deal.

At the end of the introduction, my little man in red quickly raises his hand for a comment. He is called on, and says, "When I grow up, I am going to be a fireman." Really...his timing is unreal. (he gets it from his mother.)

The next kid announces he will be an astronaut, and then another boy declares he will be a race car driver. Finally, the fireman calls on a girl.

"I am going to be a princess when I grow up" she shyly says.

Blake leaps up, eyebrows raised, cheeks rosey and announces to the room, "Wha! When my mommy grows up, she wants to be a princess too!!!!"

Can you believe it!

Take A Guess

Who is holding Parker's hand at dinner.

Obviously...it's Jesus.

Good Guys and Bad Guys

Aaaah...Trickerman strikes again!

Poor Sock Monkey.
