Oh, Those Blue Eyes...

I am working overtime to make sure that my boys don't break your daughter's heart. As of right now, Blake thinks it's funny to call little girls, boys, and declares that his heart has been taken by "Ella" a 2 year old in his preschool class. Last week it was me, but the issues that was causing between Blake and his daddy, weren't worth the fight. Blake is constantly making sure we are wearing our wedding rings, always wants to watch us dance and kiss, but the even mention of our wedding day, and that daddy married mommy, sends the boy into a tailspin. "Mommy, I wanted you to marry me, not daddy." Then comes the conversation that if there was no daddy, there would be no Blakey.

Sir Parker Brent

One of my most favorite things about Parker, is he is crazy. He is a wild man with a scream we are trying to tame. What is fun about Parker, is that Parker thinks he is fun. I appreciate knowing your giftings.

When Pillows Come in the Mail...

Kid tested. Mommy approved...but only with the plastic still on.

Please. Everyone had just eaten lunch. (and yes, we need to purchase a belt for Blake)

Potty Humor

Why is it when you have kids, things that weren't funny before, are now really really funny. The kind of funny though, that you don't want your 3 year old to know are funny. This morning I found both of my children playing in the toilet. My mom always told me to keep the lid closed because the cat would drown in the bowl. (I think she just didn't like the looks of the inside of the toilet!) A couple of days ago, we had some friends over for dinner and Blake gets up from the table and starts to boogie. He starts singing, "Pee Pee Dance, Pee Pee Dance!" We head toward the bathroom and get comfy. I am kneeling next to him and he looks me in the eye, and in all seriousness, whispers, "Mommy, I think that there is a hair dryer on my bottom!" "What do you mean?" I asked him. "My poopy is really hot!" By the time Blake and Parker hit kindergarten, the insides of my cheeks will be raw.

A New Home for The Needhams

Blake told me last night that he doesn't want to live in our house anymore. "I want someone else to live in our home and I want to move." (I promise I didn't set him up, although I think Dave would disagree.) We will keep you posted after I have Blake create his own profile on windermere.com. I am hoping he keeps me in mind when it comes to a walk in pantry and linen closet. A soaking tub would be nice too.

MOVING UPDATE (4/16/08) We realized that a request for a new home was also followed by the desire for a new mommy and daddy. Interesting how this usually comes on the heels of doing something naughty, and getting caught.

Jesus is a Swimmer!

Blake woke up this afternoon in a thoughtful sort of mood. He was laying in the dark, on his bed and called me over to his side. The baby toy that he was holding was a fish. On the bottom of the fish there are little plastic shapes. He pointed to the red heart, "Mommy" he whispered, "This is where Jesus lives!" I swallowed a laugh, and asked him who lived in the green square. "Oh, that's God, and Heaven is in the yellow star." Dying to know who was residing in the last piece, he told me, "That is Lord. Jesus, God, Heaven and Lord are busy praying for me." It's nice to have the team snuggle up in your bed during nap time.

Peeky Po Kee

Blake's pet name for his "little sister". I taught Parker how to motion "UP" when he wants to be picked up rather than whining. Good one, Wendy. I do know that one is cuter than the other.... The jury is still out on which one is more annoying.

The Three Stage Time-Out

Eddie is visiting us this week while my parents are in Texas. I try to remember to feed him everyday, but since his food is placed on the floor, and the boys food is placed on plates, you can understand why things have gotten a little confusing as of late. Parker wants to eat Eddie's food and dunk his holy fingers in the water dish. Eddie wants to eat Parker's food, and knows that there is an unspoken commitment on the side of my 15 month old and the poochy. There must have been some point in which Parker would sneak Eddie pieces of food, so now Eddie jumps at Parker while he eats. He jumps at his side, (where the little gooey hands are located) and he jumps at his feet. Today he jumped up and scratched his sockless toes. Parker screams, Eddie cowards and Blake declares that he isn't friends with anyone that gets in trouble (love that kid...). Now Parker is laughing, Blake is fuming at the dog, and Eddie is in trouble. Nothing like having a third child on loan for a week.

Parenting is for the Birds!!!

So I am not so good at keeping up with this blog thing.....I would much rather spend my afternoons seeing what Nordstrom.com has knocked down to 70%. Unreal deals. Unreal. Anyways, today B, P and I headed to Target to return a couple of things and decided that we should take a peek at the humming bird feeders. Last time we were there, Blake and I had a bit of a tiff in regards to purchasing the Smith and Hawkin Blue Glass feeder, or the one I wanted (my yard...my mortgage...) the green one. We couldn't come together, so we opted for none. Today when we went back, we headed down the aisle, to find only green and purple. "I guess we won't be able to get the blue one today Mommy. Seems like everyone liked the one I liked." Are you kidding me?
